Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are the rules for using Moonlit Cottage (the "App"), provided by Hoshilua Studio ("we"). By using the App you agree to the Terms. If you are a minor, please get a parent or guardian's consent first. The Japanese version of these Terms is the official one; this English version is for convenience.

1. Your account

The App creates an anonymous account the first time you play. Please keep your account, transfer codes and passwords safe yourself. You may not sell, give away or lend your account to anyone.

2. Names, cottages and what you post

Your player name, the snapshot of your cottage and outfit, stickers and images you upload ("Posts") may be shown to other players. You keep the rights to your Posts, and you allow us to use them free of charge (store, resize and display them) as needed to show them in the App.

After a report or review, we may reset a name to the default, hide or delete Posts like these without notice:

• content that hurts, discriminates against, threatens or harasses others
• obscene or violent content, or anything else against public order and morals
• information that identifies a person, such as a real name, address, phone number, email address or social media account
• advertising, solicitation, or links to outside services
• impersonating us or others, or content that infringes others' rights such as copyright or trademarks

3. Reports

You can report another player's cottage or name with "Report" in the App. When we receive a report we review a copy of the cottage and name as they were at that moment, and if we find that they break these Terms we may reset the name, stop showing it, or restrict the account. We may not be able to tell you what we did or why. Please do not send false reports or reports meant to harass.

4. Prohibited conduct

• obtaining Moon Gems, items or ranking scores through cheating tools, modified apps, tampered traffic or bugs
• attacking or overloading the App or our servers, or reverse engineering them
• harassing or impersonating other players, or other nuisance
• trading accounts or items for money or for things in other services (real-money trading)
• using the App commercially without our permission
• breaking the law or these Terms, or anything else we consider inappropriate

If we find any of these, we may remove items or records, or suspend or delete the account. In that case no refund is given, paid Moon Gems included, except where the law requires it.

5. Moon Gems and in-app purchases

Moon Gems are items usable only in the App, either paid (bought) or free (earned by playing). Free gems are used first. Paid Moon Gems can only be used on the platform where they were bought. They cannot be refunded or exchanged for money or for anything in other services, except where the law requires it. Wish (gacha) rates are shown in the App. See the Legal Notices for details.

6. Changes to the service and ending it

We may change the App or stop providing it. Before it ends we will announce it in the App or elsewhere, and unused paid Moon Gems will be refunded under Japan's Payment Services Act.

7. Disclaimer

We work to keep the App running well, but we do not guarantee that bugs, data loss or connection problems will never happen. Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for damage arising from using the App. This does not apply where laws such as Japan's Consumer Contract Act do not allow it.

8. Changes to these Terms

When we change these Terms we will announce it in the App or on this page. Using the App after the change means you agree to the new Terms.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute about the App. [to be confirmed]
